WHY CAN’T MY PLAYERS CLAIM THEIR KIT?
Sometimes you might hear from your players that they can’t claim a kit. There are a few reasons why this might be happening and KA0S gives you the power to be able to diagnose the problem and fix it quickly. Here are a few ways to resolve the problem:
- Check /diag – the panel on the right side of your diag screen can tell you how the game is responding when quick chat wheel options are selected. Tell the player to attempt the claim again and use /diag in discord immediately after.
- Typical responses to see include “NOT ELIGIBLE” (meaning the player is not on the list for that kit) or “KIT DOES NOT EXIST” (a kit has not been created or isn’t recognised by KA0SBOT).
- Make sure your player is on the list using the above steps, and double check how you named your kit. The kits need to be named exactly as the mapping in the Kit Claims section states e.g. freekit vipkit elitekit elitekit2 and so on…
- Use /sync-target to force KA0SBOT to update the players roles. Check out Role Automation and Lists for more information on the sync commands.
- If the player sees a message in game stating they claimed the kit, but they received nothing this means KA0SBOT performed it’s actions correctly, however the kit has been created incorrectly. Check out the Kit Builder for help with generating kit codes, or use the in-game kit manager to make sure the correct shortnames and kit codes are being used.
