Getting Started with KA0SBOT RCE

Now you have KA0SBOT on your server(s), the first thing to do is run /setup in your discord.

This command will create useful channels in your discord and give you the kaosadmin role, allowing you the permissions you need to customise KA0SBOT features.

Here are the basics you need to know:

CONFIGS

The settings for every feature of KA0SBOT can be viewed using /configs

Configs are panels of information containing an overview of the settings for each feature and are FUNDAMENTAL to using KA0SBOT. They are useful for quickly checking what your settings are or for finding the config names to be used in commands.

Using the drop down box at the bottom you can navigate to other KA0SBOT settings such as kits, teleports, shop and many more!

COMMANDS

To change any setting in a config you will use /set

This command allows you to enable/disable a feature or change the variables of that feature (i.e., time, amount..)

When you type this command into discord, preset variables will appear to help you complete the command. You can either pick from the selection shown when the cursor is in the box or manually type in the box yourself. Protip: Use the TAB button on your keyboard to navigate the variables quickly.

Here are some examples of the /set command in action:

This /set command configuration will enable the Note Messaging feature on server 1.
This /set command configuration will set the freekit claim time to 24 hours on all servers.
  • config_name is found in /configs
  • option depends on the config being changed but is typically on/off or a number
  • server is the number of the server you wish to make changes to (select All Servers to apply changes to all of your servers at the same time)

RUST COMMANDS

You can direct KA0SBOT to send rust commands to the console from discord using:

  • !console and !console1 to send the command to server 1
  • !console2 to send the command to server 2
    • (!console3 for server 3 and so on…)
  • !consoles to send the command to all your servers

Notice that KAOS will respond to tell you if the command was processed successfully.

(Protip: if the command was processed successfully but did not happen on your server, you can use /diag to see information about the peformance of your server)

TLDR…

  1. Use /configs to find the name of the setting you want to use or customise.
  2. Use /set to change it.
  3. If in doubt, use /panel for an even simpler way to change settings.

With this basic knowledge you will be able to use most of the features KA0SBOT offers! The key to mastering KA0SBOT is time and practise. Take the time to read the guides and watch the videos, and practise using the commands or the panel to make changes.
